Internship - Flexible Hours/Fall 2026

Diakon is one of the premier employers in Pennsylvania and Maryland. We are a non-profit organization which includes Diakon Child, Family, and Community Ministries and Diakon Affordable Housing.

We offer a variety of internship opportunities within our organization. Our interns gain meaningful, real-world exposure while working alongside experienced professionals who are committed to supporting both your learning and the individuals and families we serve.

Below are the various programs that offer internships at Diakon:

Affordable Housing:

• Work with adults living in one of our affordable housing buildings coordinating activities, onsite support, companionship and more.

Behavioral Health Services:

• Hands-on experience in areas such as outpatient counseling, case management, and school-based services.

Community Services:

• Work with seniors in the community through various programs geared towards aging in place, remaining active, and staying connected.

Family Preservation:

• Observe home-based programs working with children and families to prevent out-of-home placement of children.

Ministry Support/Corporate Offices:

• Office-setting opportunities in Finance, Human Resources, Advancement/Grants, Corporate Communications, Accounts Payable, Marketing, and more.

Permanency Services:

• Experience opportunities with case managers involved in foster care and adoption services.

Youth Services:

• Work with at-risk youth through community-based treatment, vocational training, counseling and mentorship.
