Itinerant Speech Language Pathologist

The speech language pathologist will conduct screenings and evaluations, as well as provide direct services to prekindergarten students with mild/moderate disabilities in a community child care setting. Responsibilities Include: • Conduct thorough assessments of speech and language skills utilizing standardized evaluations and informal assessments to establish eligibility for services and inform goals and service delivery • Utilize data to develop attainable, strengths-based SMART goals for improving functional communication skills • Provide direct services utilizing research-based treatment methods to improve students' functional communication skills as outlined in the students' Individualized Education Program (IEP) • Record data and report progress at least as often as report cards are provided • Attend and participate in IEP meetings • Communicate test results and progress with families • Collaborate with other related service providers to conduct co-treatment sessions when deemed appropriate • Consult with classroom teachers and paraprofessionals to implement communication strategies throughout the school day • Participate in professional development that is specific to the field and meets requirements to maintain licensure Preferred Skills: • Experience with low-, mid-, and high-tech augmentative/alternative communication strategies • Experience with behavior management/de-escalation strategies Reports To: • CPPI Grant Coordinator • Director of Special Education & Special Education Coordinator
