Lab Assistant-Float
- GENERAL DESCRIPTION
- The Lab Assistant- Float supports clinical laboratory operations across hospital and outpatient clinic locations, including Medical Associates of BCHC, BCHC Family Medicine-Jesup, and BCHC Family Medicine-Oelwein. This role performs routine, non-technical duties such as specimen collection, processing, and handling, while ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to safety standards.
- EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

- Graduate of high school or equivalent required with courses in biology or anatomy preferred.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support required.
- In addition to meeting the educational and/or license requirement(s) associated with this position, must be able to provide documentation (copy of transcript or diploma) to verify completion of education. At a minimum, documentation provided must be for High School or GED equivalency, but more advanced diplomas are also accepted for other levels of education completed.

- WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

- Acute care or clinical laboratory experience is preferred, but not required.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and basic laboratory processes is preferred.
- Previous phlebotomy experience is preferred, but not required.
- Strong clerical, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to work independently are preferred.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude with self-confidence, motivation, and a commitment to achieving individual and organizational goals.
Salary Range: $18.00-$25.20
