Laboratory Assistant

Job Summary

Responsible for performing phlebotomy procedures (blood draws) in the laboratory and in the hospital

Qualifications

Education

• Required
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent

Experience:

• Preferred
  • Knowledge of medical laboratory practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Knowledge of Lab/reference manuals, formularies, ICD-9 book, and reference lab procedures

Certification/Licensure:

• Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
    • Must obtain within ninety (90) days of start date
• Preferred
  • ASCP Board or Registry or equivalent
