Lead Echo Tech
POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Director Cardiology Service Line and/or the Management Team, the Lead Echo Tech is responsible for the department maintenance of the Imaging/Reporting System, iSite and assists with the management of system menus. Requires extensive clinical working knowledge of Noninvasive procedures and ultrasound systems. The Lead Echo Tech will develop and implement technical competencies, new hire orientation programs, and ongoing training for technicians.
The Lead Echo Tech will be expected to function and educate staff independently within ARDMS/CCI industry standards. Actively participates in the development and monitoring of departmental QA program/Accreditation process with direction from the Medical Director of Cardiology.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- A graduate of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate academic program in health science preferred (including, but not limited to, cardiovascular technology or ultrasound).
- Current credentials as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS/RCS) from the ARDMS/CCI preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the field of Echocardiography Ultrasonography.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a didactic and clinical instructor in a cardiovascular school preferred.
- Super-user with Imaging/Reporting System must be achieved within six (6) months of hire.
- Basic typing and computer skills in data entry.
- Current CPR certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
