Position Overview:
Responsible to Director for departmental operations, to include oversite of daily operations and coordination of technologists and modalities. Helps to maintain a positive and professional atmosphere for the department and technical staff in order to provide for the production of high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:
• Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs various radiology services and duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures.
• Assists the Radiologist in making needed corrections to protocols, patient exams in PACS, and any other needs they may have.
• Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply acquired radiation knowledge for radiologic diagnosis.
• Assumes responsibility for supervising ancillary personnel and students assigned within the department.
• Controls work progress within those areas of designated responsibility.
• Processes information on the Center's Health Information system as required in performing responsibilities.
• Together with Imaging Director, provides feedback/recommendations on personnel matters.
• Reports any significant problems related to patient, physicians, procedures, housekeeping, maintenance, supplies, or personnel to the Director, and makes suggestions for improvement.
• Establishes priorities, delegates responsibility, and effectively utilizes department time, personnel, and equipment within the imaging department.
• Helps to communicate appropriate information to all modality staff in a timely and positive manner.
• Assists with performing employee reviews for each modality under the direction of the Director.
• Ensures competency level of all technologists, and reports any inappropriate behaviors.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited school of Radiology. Must be currently ARRT registered in a minimum of two separate modalities. CPR certification required. 3 years' experience as a radiologic technologist in a busy outpatient setting or hospital department. Associate of Science or Bachelor's Degree preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy and physiology for imaging, proper operation of and care of diagnostic equipment, and radiation safety is required. Ability to train and to serve as a subject matter expert on implementation of proper protocol and processes for different areas within Radiology. Experience working with PACS. Excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrates the willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities. Pursues programs of continuing education consistent with requirements of ARRT and Granville Medical Center. Knowledge of current trends and techniques in Imaging Services appropriate to the practice setting. Works with others and is known to be a strong team player.
