Licensed Addiction Counselor

Triple Divide Lodge is a 90-day Residential Treatment Program for adolescent males 14-19, located in Marion, Montana. We help young men struggling with substance use disorders and related co-occurring disorders.

Triple Divide Lodge is the only program of its kind – We are a residential treatment program founded on 12 Step program that incorporate elements of Adventure and Wilderness Therapy. Our clinical model helps clients overcome their substance use issue by getting outside of their comfort zones and experiencing the growth wilderness inspires.

The Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC) Case Manager provides clinical services to patients as a member of the treatment team. This is done through direct counseling, treatment, recovery, and rehabilitation techniques for total patient care as well as other aspects of the core functions for addictions counselors. This individual performs functions that are clinically privileged.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Practices and gains/practices proficiency in all areas of the Core Functions of addiction counseling.
  • Case management.
  • Assists in treatment planning; prepares preliminary plan for approval, provides group and individual counseling for assigned patients; develops and presents didactic material to patients and staff.
  • Conducts family interviews and provides for referral to appropriate community resources; holds back-to-work and back-to-home conference involving patients, families and concerned parties.
  • Applies a variety of recognized individual, family and group counseling techniques as appropriate to the demonstrated needs.
  • Documents and reports on patient responses and progress to superiors and other members of the treatment team; prepares patient intake, activities, treatment and progress, transfer, discharge summaries and related records; maintains patient follow-up through established contact procedures.
  • Works with therapists to assure clients achieve individual treatment plans and programmatic goals.
  • Assures all areas of programming i.e., academic, adventure, etc. is integrated into the therapeutic process.
  • Participates and gains experience in Experiential/Adventure Therapy.


  • Meet the requirements for Licensed Addictions Counselor in the state of Montana. Considerable knowledge of and participation in the Twelve Step recovery program; and knowledge of drug abuse treatment.
  • Adolescent counseling experience and/or adolescence development knowledge.
  • Further his/her education and training in the field of addictions counseling.
  • Trained and knowledgeable of individual and group counseling procedures and methods.
  • Speak professionally and in a positive manner representing the facility and its philosophy of treatment to any group concerning alcoholism.
  • Knowledge of existing community and agency services available to each patient.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test. If in recovery, must have at least three continuous years of sobriety/abstinence.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to walk, bend, and move in the course of completing duties.
  • Willingness and ability to participate in outdoor activities.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.


Salary: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year DOE

The first of the month after 30 days of employment full time employees are eligible to sign up for Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance. After 6 months, they can contribute to their 401K.

Full time employees start earning PTO right away and can utilize the PTO after four months of employment.
