Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

JOB SUMMARY

The LMFT specializes in working with families and couples and is empathetic, non-judgmental, and able to provide effective therapeutic support. The work involves working in a clinic setting and maintaining accurate, complete, and timely medical records. The LMFT is passionate about helping others and will work collaboratively with our team to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.

PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONS includes the following, other duties may be assigned:

  • Conducts individual and family therapy sessions to address mental health concerns.
  • Creates treatment plans in collaboration with patients that are tailored to their specific needs and goals.
  • Documents patient progress and treatment plans in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Maintains confidentiality and ensures patient privacy is protected at all times.
  • Provides crisis intervention and support to patients as needed.
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with other healthcare professionals and support staff.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of therapeutic techniques and best practices.
  • Participates in clinical supervision and continuing education opportunities to enhance professional skills.
  • Advocates for patients' needs and rights as appropriate.
  • Maintains a positive and supportive therapeutic environment that fosters growth and healing.


The following are expectations of all WhidbeyHealth employees:

  • Attends a minimum of 80% of monthly department staff meetings throughout the year. Actively participates in monthly department staff meetings, to include active participation in setting department goals and supporting department functions to meet set goals.
  • Checks hospital email account a minimum of three (3) times per week.
  • Utilizes AIDET in all interactions with patients, employees and visitors.
  • Completes all mandatory education within given timeframe.
  • Adheres to all hospital, department, and safety policies, procedures and guidelines at all times.


JOB KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Master's degree or doctorate in marriage and family therapy from a nationally or regionally accredited institution.
  • Satisfactory completion of the required 2 years of supervised practice.
  • Satisfactory passage of the National Examination in Marital and Family Therapy


Training and Experience

A minimum of one (1) or two (2) year experience as a LMFT.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • BLS required.
  • Valid Washington state driver's license, minimum state required liability auto insurance and reliable transportation required
  • Active and Unrestricted WA State LMFT Licensure.
