Position Type: Non - Exempt

Hours :8 hours split shift - Per Diem

Weekends: once per month

Job Summary of LPN:

Provides direct nursing care to patients that includes assisting in the steps of the nursing process, administering medications, and participating in patient education according to the age and/or developmental level of the patient.

Essential Responsibilities of LPN:

• Carries out direct patient care activities according to age and developmental level of the patient.
• Utilizes effective oral and written communication skills to include completeness and accuracy of documentation.
• Administers medication
• Participates in patient education activities based on the identified learning needs of the patient and family according to the age and developmental level.
• Performs additional duties within practice scope for LPNs as directed by the RN.
• Demonstrates knowledge of suicide risk assessment process and environmental safety concerns during care delivery to designated population.

LPN Education Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing required.
• Licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of Connecticut required.
• BLS current or within six months of hire or equivalent required.
• Achieve unit-specific competencies within the time frame determined by the department required.
