LPN
Job Description:
Provides support for team and provider(s) during facility encounters. Performs follow-up care per provider instructions and in accordance with scope of practice. Assists patient education. Documents clinical information into the medical record.
Essential Functions:
- Prepares patient for exams by reviewing history, collecting current information and appropriate vital signs, documenting in the medical record according to guidelines (e.g., hearing, vision, blood pressure).
- Prepares room and equipment for procedures and assist physician as needed
- Assisting with thyroid ultrasound and thyroid biopsies
- Knowledge of basic computer software, and the ability to learn computer software relating to Electronic Medical Records (EMR) required
- Initiates interventions and health education according to prevention guidelines
- Administering medications and vaccinations
- Assist with monitoring and management of patient and physician electronic messages as delegated by the physician and within scope of practice
- Schedules appointments for patients with lab, radiology, consultants and follow-up appointments as ordered by physician
- Management of patient prescription refills, prior authorizations and insurance queries
- Management of inventory of supplies; restocking exam/procedure rooms
- Send/receive patient medical records in accordance with Health Insurance. Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other state and federal regulations
- Ensures messages and callbacks are processed in a timely manner. Answers practice emails in a timely and professional manner
- Obtaining lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc. Complete forms/requisitions as needed
- Ability to multi-task in an efficient, thorough, and prioritized manner
- Other administrative duties as needed
Education:
- High School Diploma or General Education Development required.
- Must possess LPN licensure in current state of practice.
- Minimum 2 years recent experience as an LPN.
- Prior experience in Endocrinology practice or Diabetes required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Salary Range:
$25.07 - $33.78hr
