LVN

Position Summary:

The LVN/GVN assists the physician and mid-level practitioners in providing quality care as delegated. This individual is also cross trained to assist in clerical tasks, waived testing and phlebotomy/ venipuncture.

Qualifications:

A. Education: Currently licensed as a Vocational Nurse by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas OR hold a current Texas permit.

B. Training and Experience:

  1. Minimum of six months experience working as an LVN preferred; one year of experience in an ambulatory setting preferred. Bilingual abilities desirable but not mandatory.
  2. Current BLS Certification within 90 days of hire required.
  3. EKG and Cardiac Rhythms knowledge
  4. Mental Health First Aid-Suicide Awareness Training

C. Demonstrate appropriate leadership skills:

  • Professionalism
  • Communication
  • Role Presentation
  • Modeling Decision-making and problem resolution

Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

A. Ability to perform:

1. Heavy lifting

2. Sustained standing and walking

3. Work under stress

4. Varied work hours and shifts including weekends and holidays

B. May encounter exposure to infectious diseases.
