Mammographer
Position Summary
The Mammographer performs all diagnostic mammography examinations that create the images needed for diagnosis. The Mammographer integrates scientific knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1.Performs diagnostic mammography including positioning, machine set-up, radiation exposure technique, image acquisition and post-processing.
2.Follows all National Patient Safety Goals.
3.Provides recordkeeping of patient history and symptoms.
4.Reviews orders, explains procedure, answers questions and provides a high level of patient satisfaction.
5.Maintains cleanliness of department and assures adequate supply inventory.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required:
High school degree/equivalent
Preferred:
Associate's Degree in Radiologic Sciences
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):
Required:
None
Preferred:
1-2 years Radiography experience
License, Registry or Certification:
Required:
• ARRT Registry in Radiography and Mammography required or registry-eligible
• NJDEP Xray License
• Current CPR/BLS certification for Health Care Providers.
