Mammography Tech

Key Responsibilities

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammography examinations according to established protocols and physician orders.
• Ensure accurate patient positioning and image acquisition to achieve optimal diagnostic quality.
• Educate patients on procedures and address questions or concerns with professionalism and compassion.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations.
• Document procedures and patient information accurately within the Epic electronic medical record system.
• Follow radiation safety standards and departmental quality assurance guidelines.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
• Maintain imaging equipment and report any operational concerns or equipment issues.
• Participate in departmental workflows and support efficient patient throughput.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• Current New York State Radiologic Technologist License.
• Current ARRT certification in Radiography (R).
• Current ARRT certification in Mammography (M).
• Minimum of three (3) years of Mammography Technologist experience.
• Experience performing both screening and diagnostic mammograms.
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient-care skills.
