Manager Accounting
Summary
Responsible for ensuring the proper application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in regards to the health system's financial records as well as the timely preparation of monthly financial statements. Assists in the development and administration of the fiscal, financial, and accounting programs of the Hospital and its affiliates. Responsible for the preparation of various complex financial reports and analyses, and the maintenance of financial reports. Oversees annual financial audits and 990 tax return preparation. Responsible for teaching and developing accounting staff in the application of accounting principles.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Meets one of the following:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and five years of corporate accounting experience.
- Six years of progressively more responsible experience with a thorough knowledge of general business methods, accounting techniques and systems, third party reimbursement, and other specific responsibilities.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in preparing complex accounting reports and problem resolution.
- Interpersonal and managerial skills; prior supervisory experience.
- Extensive working knowledge of computerized general ledger software packages and spreadsheet, word processing, and PowerPoint capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
- Three years of previous supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, non-profit taxes, and cost report preparation.
