We depend on the knowledge and skills of our MT's when it comes to evaluating medical lab tests to determine what's happening with our patients. They are vital to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. Love working in lab and analyzing results? Connect with us today!
- Conduct chemical analysis of body fluids, including blood, urine, or spinal, to determine presence of normal or abnormal components
- Collect biological specimens from patients
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment used in quantitative or qualitative analysis
- Enter data from analysis of medical tests or clinical results into computer for storage
- Follows established procedures and requirements set forth by the General Supervisor in each individual department.
- Prepares departmental staffing schedules under the direction of the Director.
- Trains and orients new employees, evaluates assigned personnel, recommends salary adjustment, terminations, etc., carries out disciplinary procedures.
- Interviews new applicants, recommending for hire, transfer or promotion.
- Reviews workload and guides staff in additional studies regarding problems related to correlation of test results and disease states.
- Ensures that test are performed in a timely manner, particularly in STAT situations, coordinates timed test with nursing personnel and other departments.
- Prepares Time and Attendance and other reports.
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology
- Certification by the ASCP Board of Registry/Board of Certification
