Medical Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides indirect patient care activities and performs clerical duties under the direct supervision of the provider/licensed nurse. Supports and maintains the University Health's policies, protocols, values, and guest relations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or GED is required. A medical assistant diploma from an accredited school or certification from an approved credentialing body for medical assistants is required. National certification as a registered medical assistant is preferred. One (1) year of experience in a clinic, doctor's office, or ambulatory care setting is preferred. Must have a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card.
