Medical Assistant
Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant assists the Primary Care Providers in providing quality care as delegated . This individual is also cross trained to assist in clerical tasks, waived testing and phlebotomy.
Qualifications:
A. Education:
High School graduate or equivalent required upon hire or transfer to the department.Certificate of completion from an accredited medical assistant program required upon hire or transfer to the department.
B. Training and Experience:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or transferred to department.
Minimum of six (6)months' experience working as an MA; one (1) year of experience in an ambulatory setting preferred. Bilingual abilities are desirable but not mandatory.
EKG and Cardiac Rhythms knowledge
Mental Health First Aid-Suicide Awareness Training
