Performs a variety of routine and complex laboratory tests and procedures in chemistry, microbiology, hematology, blood bank or other areas of the clinical laboratory. Participates in quality control, CAP surveys, methods/procedures development, and equipment inspections and calibrations.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Required:
Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or a science related to clinical medicine and with formal hospital-based internship and registration as a Medical Technologist (ASCP or recognized equivalent certification).
Incumbent will be required to successfully complete a laboratory orientation program.
Each applicant who advances to peer interview will be given a competency test which must be completed with accuracy of 80% or higher.
