BS or AAS and limited permit or state licensure required.
Licenses and/or Certifications

Demonstrates Proficiency
- Maintains professional competencies, continuing education, and licensure.
- Performs equipment maintenance, calibration, and quality control procedures, including troubleshooting. Expectations in troubleshooting include daily surveillance, implementation of remedial action, and documentation, as well as management notification if required.
- Functions in the ordering and receiving of specimens for testing, while evaluating all elements for acceptability and accuracy.
- Performs testing on blood, urine, stool, and body fluid specimens with accuracy, to include proficiency testing in each area of skill.
- Performs compatibility testing for transfusion services and manages inventory of blood products to include ordering, documentation, & disposition.
- Assists with audits and inspections.
- Maintains clean work area.
- Participates in inventory management practices.
- Orders supplies for assigned departments or notifies management of inventory needs.
- Assists Supervisor & Lab Manager in writing, reviewing, and updating procedures.
- Performs other tasks as requested by Supervisor or Lab Manager.

- Provides day-to-day support of workflow within the work unit; including disseminating information, assigning staff to cover for absences, providing technical assistance, providing training assistance to new employees, answering questions, and resolving problems as directed by the Lab Supervisor or Lab Manager.
- Acts as a team player and works collaboratively within the team and organization.
- Assists with developing priorities, goals, and action plans.
- Responds to requests from Laboratory Manager.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to assist with evaluation of programs and services.

- Utilizes understanding of regulatory requirements to identify ways to improve process quality and compliance.
