JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for pick up and delivery of supplies, mail, and medical records, including med/surg, and laboratory, reporting to various healthcare facilities and transporting specimens and orders. The position also acts as a transport agent for other hospital departments upon request. This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values while supporting the strategic plan, goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Process / Patient Safety Plan at Blessing Hospital.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training/Experience:

REQUIRED:

• Ability to organize supplies, mail, medical records and folders for delivery.
• Good interpersonal skills and communications.
• Ability to deal with office personnel, nurses, patients, physicians and peers.
• Ability to accept responsibility and use initiative to proceed with the necessary tasks.
• Understanding the need for discretion and confidentiality.
• Willing to provide assistance when needed.
• Must be able to communicate with nurses and physicians to locate missing charts, folders, lab work, mail and supplies.

PREFERRED:

• High school diploma or equivalent

License/Certifications/Special Requirements:

• Valid Driver's License

• Non-exempt hourly
