Mid-Level Practitioner, Physician Assistant

JOB SUMMARY

  • The Mid-level Practitioner is responsible for providing health care to patients in the hospital or office setting. The Mid-level Practitioner works in consultation, cooperation and coordination through a collaborative physician. The Mid-level Practitioner functions according to the established standards and practices of medicine for Advanced Practice Nurse/Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistants in the State of Texas.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Education
    • Master's Degree
  • Minimum Work Experience
    • Previous healthcare experience preferred
  • Required Licenses/Certifications
    • BSN, MSN, ANP, or PA licensed in the state of Texas
    • BLS
  • Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
    • Knowledge of medical practices, terminology, and reimbursement policies.
    • Thorough knowledge of patient triage, diagnosis and evidenced-based care.
    • Knowledge in overcoming barriers from diagnosis to treatment including: financial/economic, language/culture, transportation issues.
    • Skill in planning, organizing, delegating, and supervising.
    • Skill in evaluating the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures.
    • Skill in problem solving.
    • Skill in verbal and written communication.
    • Skill in speaking engagements and other activities that raise awareness to diseases and disease processes.
    • Ability to read, interpret and apply policies and procedures.
    • Ability to set priorities among multiple requests.
    • Ability to interact with patients, medical and administrative staff, and the public effectively.
