The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Division provides psychiatric evaluations and management to medically ill patients who are inpatients of the New York Presbyterian medical hospital and to select groups of closely followed chronically ill outpatients such as transplant recipients. Our primary function is to provide psychiatric care to medically ill patients. Our secondary functions include teaching psychiatric trainees and non-psychiatric clinicians about CL psychiatry, and contributing to knowledge in our areas of expertise through research, presentation and publication. The PMHNP will report to the Consultation-Liaison Division of Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry and will provide clinical care physically in the Hematology setting, with clinical supervision by the Consultation-Liaison Division of Psychiatry and workflow support from the benign hematology oncology program.

Responsibilities

  • Candidate will provide psychopharmacologic and psychotherapeutic treatments for a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses, including both individual and group therapy.
  • Candidate will coordinate care with other clinicians for patients being seen clinically.
  • Candidate will be responsible to provide diagnostic psychiatric evaluations.
  • Candidate will thoroughly and appropriately document above activities.
  • Candidate will participate in lifelong learning via attending lectures and workshops.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plusfour years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Nursing
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, be flexible, and have interest in life-long learning.

Other Requirements

  • Must successfully complete all online systems training requirements.
  • New York State Registered Nurse and Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner Licenses required.
  • National Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) required.
