Position Overview:
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join a physician-owned primary care practice serving patients in the Metro Atlanta area. The position offers an opportunity to work closely with a supervising physician, manage a diverse patient population, and participate in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.
The practice emphasizes professional development, advanced technology, quality patient care, and opportunities for career growth as the organization expands.
A structured pathway is also available for qualified new Nurse Practitioner graduates who may begin in an RN role, receive training within the practice, and transition into an NP position after gaining appropriate clinical experience and demonstrating readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive primary care in collaboration with a supervising physician.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized patient treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and order appropriate diagnostic tests within the scope of practice.
- Provide patient education, counseling, and preventive healthcare guidance.
- Coordinate patient care with specialists and other healthcare providers.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and practice development activities.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Develop strong, professional relationships with patients and members of the healthcare team.
- Manage patients independently when appropriate while maintaining effective collaboration with the supervising physician.
- Opportunities may be available to develop a specialty area of clinical focus.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
- Board certification as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner through AANP or ANCC.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in primary care preferred/required for the standard NP pathway.
- Active Georgia APRN license.
- Appropriate prescriptive authority for the NP role.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment-planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong patient-centered approach and bedside manner.
- Ability to manage patients independently when clinically appropriate.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative physician-provider model.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
New Graduate Pathway:
- Qualified new NP graduates may be considered for an alternative development pathway. Candidates may begin in an RN position while receiving structured training and clinical development within the practice, with the opportunity to transition into a Nurse Practitioner role after approximately two years, or sooner based on demonstrated clinical competency and readiness.
- Candidates entering this pathway should hold an appropriate RN license and meet the applicable educational and professional requirements for eventual NP transition.
