Job Description:
SUMMARY Ensures comprehensive, efficient health care through planning, directing and providing care within a multidisciplinary health team. To direct the care of patients utilizing the Advanced Practice Nursing Process of assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. To maintain accountability to hospital, state, and federal regulations, and professional standards regarding activities, documentation and collaboration requirements. STATUS: Full Time LOCATION: Louisville Clinic DEPARTMENT: MH Louisville Clinic SCHEDULE: 8 Hour, Days EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree in Nursing and completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.If licensed prior to April 1, 1989, 2 years of RN experience prior to this date is required in lieu of Master's degree in Nursing.Previous Nurse Practitioner experience desirable or a combination of related experiences in progressively advancing nursing practice and leadership roles.For ElderONE employment and other areas of elderly care: 1 year experience working with the frail elderly population is required. CONTACTS: All patients, physicians, office staff, Director of Primary Care Centers, Vice President PHYSCIAL DEMANDS: Is on his/her feet most of the shift. Lifts and pulls medium to heavy patients and equipment. Meal breaks are often irregular or unavailable. WORKING CONDITIONS/HAZARDS: Frequent exposure to unpleasant sights and odors, such as blood, excrement. Possibility of cuts, burns, infections and strains. Possible injury from uncooperative patients. Class I – Employees who have contact with blood/body fluids or items contaminated with blood/body fluids or items contaminated with blood/body fluids on an almost daily basis.
