Position Summary
The Nursing Director is responsible for all supervisory responsibility of nursing staff. Provide leadership, administrative and management support for the Occupational Nursing and Clinic Services organizations.

Core Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, administrative and management support for the Occupational Nursing and Clinic Services organizations.
- Responsible for planning, organizing, directing and integrating the operations of both organizations.
- Develops and implements policies and objectives relating to recordkeeping, communication procedures, and other organizational processes; and assures compliance with all established rules, regulations, and standards
- Provide support to the SOMD to ensure the success and compliance of the contract at clinic.
- Coordinate and plan the activities of a specialized team of nurses, medical assistants and technologists to provide a full range of occupational health services and high-quality patient care.
- Responsible for hiring, supervision, productivity, training and mentoring of the nursing and administrative staff.
- Prepare staff performance evaluations and make recommendations for salary adjustments.
- Ensure the development of nursing and administrative staff through the implementation of logically developed goals, objectives and strategic plans.
- Monitor and analyze costs and prepare budget inputs for functional areas within the clinic.
- Ensure appropriate fiscal management by tracking and controlling expenditures in accordance with budget allocations.
- Evaluate program, policies, procedures and practices to ensure they are accomplishing functional area objectives.
- Make recommendations and implement changes for improvement in areas of need.
- Direct the annual influenza immunization and blood pressure screening programs/events.
- Assess and perform advanced cardiac life support and treatment in accordance with the latest standards.
- Talent Acquisition and Retention: Emphasize attracting, coaching, mentoring, and retaining talent through excellent communication, training, enforcing key competencies and performance management, when required.
Qualifications
- Experience - shall have a minimum of five years nursing supervisory experience in an occupational health setting of similar complexity and have knowledge of accreditation standards, risk management principles and practice, and quality improvement processes.
- Education -shall possess, at a minimum, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a relevant field (e.g., MBA, MS-Business, MPH) is desirable.
- Licensure - shall possess a valid, unrestricted nursing license in the State of Washington
- Certification- shall be a Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN)
- Certifications- Shall have successfully completed the American Heart Association (AHA) training in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). BLS and ACLS certifications shall be maintained and current at all times.
- Desired Experience - leading a clinical element supporting organizational achievement of accreditation by a national accreditation body is desirable.
