Nursing Shift Director
- DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
- A Registered healthcare professional who provides Administrative direction for a shift for the delivery of patient care. This position is responsible to support staff; maintain patient, family and physician satisfaction; and utilize resources in a fiscally responsible manner. Demonstrates knowledge of and assures compliance with accrediting/regulatory agency standards, hospital and departmental policies and procedures and customer service standards.
- POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
- Experience:
- Current clinical experience.
Three years of supervisory/leadership experience required.
Experience working with and directing others in a fair, consistent and respectful manner.
- Current clinical experience.
- Education and Training:
- Graduated from a qualified nursing program with a Baccalaureate degree (BSN preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- License, Certification & Registration:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) within one year.
- RN License as a professional nurse within MA
- BLS
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to interpret and administer policies.
Demonstrated leadership ability, strong decision making, and good collaboration skills.
Communicates a strong work ethic and commitment toward excellence in the healthcare profession.
Excellent interpersonal skills, communicates effectively with patients, family members, physicians, management and staff.
Well organized and able to handle a variety of complex multiple priorities simultaneously.
Demonstrated dependability and flexibility.
Documented effectiveness in addressing problems and resolving conflict.
Ability to use Equipment and Computer used to care for patients.
