OB/GYN Physician

Description

If you're an OB-GYN who is passionate about maternal health and rural care, we'd love to connect with you. For more information about our provider opportunities, contact our Chief Human Resources Officer, Jill Mages, at [click to reveal phone number] or myrtuemedical.org/careers.

Myrtue Medical Center is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible OB-GYN Physician to join our growing obstetrics and maternal health team. This position will support our current OB-GYN and Family Medicine Obstetrics providers and expand access to high-quality obstetric and gynecologic care in Shelby County and surrounding communities.

In this role, you'll grow your OB-GYN practice at a well-established and thriving rural hospital with a truly supportive team, including one additional OB-GYN, family medicine physicians with OB (FPOB), women's health trained advanced practice professional, pediatrician, specialist, surgical team, anesthesia and skilled L & D nursing staff, ensuring a collaborative environment and exceptional coordination of obstetric and gynecologic care. You will be responsible for patient assessment, diagnosis, operative and procedural care, deliveries, and postpartum support, while contributing to an exceptional patient experience.

Myrtue is trending to deliver 120-150 babies annually. Maternal services operate through an integrated, family-centered birthing center model that supports prenatal entry as early as five to six weeks gestation, standardized ultrasound surveillance, genetic screening, gestational diabetes and hypertension monitoring. Additionally, Myrtue introduced Robotic-Assisted Surgery in 2025 which is utilized by both our OB-GYN and general surgeon.

This year Myrtue was named a Rural OB Center of Excellence by the Department of Health and Human Services under the Rural Health Transformation program. Over the past few years, Myrtue has significantly expanded its maternal health outreach and referral relationships in southwest Iowa through strategic collaborations with Manning Reginal Healthcare Center and Audubon County Memorial Hospital and Clinics. These partnerships enable local prenatal and postnatal care for residents in surrounding counties, with Myrtue serving as the regional hub for comprehensive maternity care and deliveries.

Our modern Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum (LDRP) suites provide a family-centered environment where patients receive continuity of care in the same comfortable room throughout their stay. Providers benefit from a well-supported environment that emphasizes safety, quality and patient satisfaction.

Additionally, with Myrtue's Birthing Center receiving the OB Center of Excellence Grant through the Rural Health Transformation program, Myrtue also is collaborating with local county ambulance EMS to focus on neonatal training to improve maternal and infant health.
