Job Description:
Job Summary:The OB triage unit is aspecialized emergency unit dedicated to the triage and treatment of urgent andemergent obstetric and gynecologic problems. The OB Triage unit is managed 24hours a day by highly skilled Advanced Practice Providers in collaboration withresident and faculty physicians. Located within the Main hospital and inproximity to all Women's And Infants services including Labor/Delivery,Antepartum, Postpartum and NICU units, the OB triage unit consists of 10 examrooms and a dedicated ultrasound suite, and averages 11,000 visits peryear.
OurAdvanced Practice Provider group consists of trusted and experienced nursepractitioners and certified nurse midwives who are committed to providingexcellent health care to women and to ensuring that every child has the bestpossible start in life. They work in concert with our Physicians on a dailybasis and are highly regarded by our patients and their families for theconfidence they engender and the relationships they foster throughattentiveness, responsiveness, and meaningful communication. Position Details:24/7 APRN coverage
12-hour shifts. 14 per month
Days/Nights/Weekends required
Some holidays required
Duties and Essential JobFunctions:
1.Collaborates with the physician in overseeing and coordinating themultidisciplinary care delivered to all patients, to optimize quality patientcare.
2. Reviews patient medical charts to assist physician with diagnosis, treatmentand care management.
3. Makes appropriate patient referrals as necessary.
4. Monitors guidelines for the management of care and for ensuring that theservices are delivered in compliance with the guidelines established by JPSHealth Network and Acclaim Physician Group.
5. Provides care education to patients and families.
6. Provides evidence-based and compassionate care to all patients as assignedto improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction scores.
7. Maintains a collaborative environment with providers, clinical staff, andsupport staff.
8. Supports academic, educational and research endeavors.
9. Attends Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committee meetings;and is an active participant in the process.
10. Serves as a resource to the community.
11. Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Education andExperience: -1-2 years of OB Triage experience as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Midwife.
-Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
-Graduate of an accredited Women's Health Nurse Practitioner program or accredited Nurse Midwife program.
