Occupational Therapist (PRN)

Beacon Health System is seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our rehabilitation team. In this role, you will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based occupational therapy services to help patients regain function, maximize independence, and improve quality of life following illness, injury, or surgery.

What You'll Do
Patient Evaluation & Treatment

• Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations based on physician orders and patient diagnoses.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable functional goals.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient progress and clinical findings.
• Utilize evidence-based interventions to optimize patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic activities and home programs.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and rehabilitation team members to provide coordinated care.
• Oversee and provide guidance to Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in accordance with state regulations and practice standards.

Documentation & Compliance

• Complete evaluations, progress notes, treatment documentation, and discharge summaries accurately and on time.
• Maintain documentation that supports regulatory, reimbursement, and quality requirements.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, accreditation standards, and state practice acts.

Professional Growth & Leadership

• Serve as a clinical resource for staff, students, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Participate in department initiatives, quality improvement projects, and continuing education opportunities.
• Support clinical education and mentorship programs for rehabilitation staff and interns.

Qualifications
Required

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current or eligible Indiana Occupational Therapy License.
• Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and patient care skills.

Preferred

• Previous acute care or hospital-based rehabilitation experience.
• Experience working with medically complex patient populations.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist patients throughout the workday.
• Ability to safely lift up to 35 pounds independently and more with assistance.
• Ability to perform CPR and other essential physical duties of patient care.
