Occupational Therapist

BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for evaluation, planning, directing and administering occupational therapy modalities of treatment. Plans and conducts individualized occupational therapy programs to help patients develop, regain, or maintain their ability to perform daily activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Will work in an outpatient setting, including pediatrics and inpatient care.
  • Teaches patients skills/techniques and how to use adaptive equipment for participating in activities.
  • Studies, evaluates, and records patients' activities and progress.
  • Administers treatments and physical agents in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, surgery, disease, or physical disability.
  • Must adhere to Rehabilitation Services Department standard practice of strictly practicing traditional and evidence-based medicine and treatment.
  • Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in upper extremity orthopedics and outpatient services is preferred.
  • Must have obtained bachelors, masters, or doctorate degree in occupational therapy at a college or university which has been accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association, or be scheduled for the board examination.
  • Must have current license in the State of CO.
  • Current BLS (CPR) certification upon initial hire and must maintain through GRHD employment.
  • Experience in outpatient setting including pediatrics and well inpatient care.
  • Practical experience obtained from previous experience in all aspects of occupational therapy, including upper extremity orthopedic rehabilitation as well as acute care experience


SALARY INFORMATION :

  • $40.68 - $47.00 Dependent on experience may vary outside this range
  • 10% differential in addition to base rate salary
  • Additional $2.00 - $4.00 an hour for additional weekend and night shifts
