Summary
Registers and follows patients with a diagnosis of malignancy; retrieves and analyzes registry data and disseminates data in accordance with professional ethics.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be credentialed by the National Cancer Registrars Association and hold an active Oncology Data Specialist (ODS, ODS-C, or ODS-Certified) credential or be eligible for certification
- Must obtain Oncology Data Specialist (ODS, ODS-C, or ODS-Certified) credential within one year
Preferred Qualifications
- One to three years of previous tumor registry experience.
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), in conjunction with Oncology Data Specialist (ODS, ODS-C, or ODS-Certified) credential, or eligibility.
