Operating Room Tech

Willis Knighton North is seeking a Surgical Technologist in its state-of-the-art Eye Surgery Department. The Eye Surgery Department performs both cataract, corneal transplants, and plastic surgery procedures. Applicants with previous eye surgery experience are preferred, but applicants with other surgery experience will be considered. Call rotation is required for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Interacts with patients, families, and visitors.
• Assigns and delegates duties to ancillary staff.
• Provides technical information and assistance to nursing personnel, physicians, and other department personnel.
• Graduate of an accredited program for a Surgical Technologist or comparable work experience.
• Previous experience in the Operating Room or related area is preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of principles of asepsis.
• Frequent exposure to contagious entities.
• Heavy lifting and transporting of patients and equipment.
