POSITION SUMMARY: The position is to serve in a hospital setting and provide basic care to patients with behavioral and mental health disorders under the direction of nursing and medical staff members. Psych Techs are the first to notice any behavioral change and report to the nursing staff.
POSITION DUTIES: Duties include, but are not limited to: Provide care based on individual Treatment Plan under the supervision of the nurse. Monitors and assesses patient progress to ensure that patient treatment objectives are met. Assist in the management of patient's behavioral utilizing therapeutic intervention techniques up to and including physical restraints as ordered but only as a last resort for the protection of the patient and others. Maintains patients whereabouts at all times. Assist with admissions, discharges and transfers of patients.
Required: High School Diploma/GED.
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree.
Preferred: Experience in a health care setting.
License/Certification: Heart Saver or Basic Life Support, Required. CPI, Required at or before orientation. National certification is preferred.
