Patient Financial Advisor
Job Summary:
The Patient Financial Advisor primary responsibilities are: 1) Ensure patient financial problems are addressed; no financial resources, limited coverage, benefits exhausted and liability situations. Collect deposits, establish payment arrangements and assist for Medicaid as well as all other financial assistance documentation within the organization. 2) Coordinates referrals to outside vendors for receivable problems. This person must be knowledgeable regarding insurance payer and benefit programs complexity and eligibility criteria for county indigent and hospital charity. 3) to gather all pertinent patient information required. 4) to accurately update patient accounts 5) to pre-certify all applicable admission/ pre-admissions 6) Assist with obtaining signatures on all appropriate admissions or eligibility forms as needed 7) to ensure that patients benefits/ eligibility are verified and entered into the hospital's information system when applicable; 8) estimate and collect all co-pay's/ deductibles that are owed to the hospital to meet departmental requirements. This person will project a professional image, to include appearance confidence, knowledge and organization of work. Also, will communicate using active listening, thinking/ analysis, appropriate response and anger diffusion skills. This position must be successful in obtaining the desired results by complex problem-solving. This person must be able to work independent of direct supervision.

High School or Equivalent: Required

1-2 Years of General Office/ Collections/ Financial: Required
