Patient Service Representative

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Lead PSR or designate, and with direction from the Business Manager and various Imaging Supervisors, registers all Outpatient studies for the Imaging Center in the HIS. Also, under the direction of the Lead PSR, schedules all outpatient studies in the RIS.

Primary Position Responsibilities

1. Registers and/or schedules outpatient appointments.

2. Verifies the imaging procedure(s) to be done, checking for physician order and proper paperwork.

3. Demonstrates competency in using HIS, RIS, and other applicable programs.

4. Demonstrates practice of Patient Satisfaction skills and techniques.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):

Preferred:

1-3 years experience in radiology/medical imaging business practice

Basic computer skills and telephone etiquette
