Team Highlights:
Our pediatric therapy team is seeking a full-time Pediatric SLP with expertise in evaluation and treatment of pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders from infants to adolescents, skilled in treatment of dysphagia, oral motor dysfunction and impairments, sensory oral feeding impairments, and treatment of patients with inability to progress to an age-appropriate diet. Preferred training in pediatric MBS (VFSS) and pediatric FEES. Preferred training in Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach to feeding.
Position Summary:
Diagnoses and treats speech and language problems and engages in scientific study of human communication.
Responsibilities:
- Teaches patients skills/techniques and how to use adaptive equipment for participating in activities
- Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication problems of organic and nonorganic etiology
- Expected to meet certain state licensing requirements
- Typically reports to a manager or director
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
- Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech Pathology required
- Certification with the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) required OR will obtain upon completion of Clinical Fellowship Year
- Current State of Idaho Speech Language Pathologist Licensure required OR temporary SLP Provisional Permit
- Minimum of 1-year experience with adult and or pediatric neurologically impaired patient population preferred
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
- Typical equipment used in a clinical job
- Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend
- Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment
