PERIOP SPECIALITY RN I INTERN

We are currently looking for Registered Nurses to join our Perioperative Internship!

Moffitt McKinley Hospital (MMH) features 19 outfitted robotic operating rooms,and Moffitt McKinley Campus (MKC) features 6 Ambulatory operating rooms, with Prep and Recovery at both locations! Providing state of the art surgical services! Our minimally invasive cancer surgery and robotic cancer surgery program is one of the busiest in the state and performs complex surgeries on gastrointestinal, urologic, head and neck, thoracic and endocrine cancers As part of Moffitt Cancer Center's Perioperative Services, the team of nurses nurtures our commitment to Patient and Family Centered Care, encouraging family members to participate in patient histories, assessments, education and instructions. Practicing with a Collaborative Team and Total Care Delivery system, our nurses embrace the concept of Shared Governance. This empowers them to be involved in the decision-making process, especially those affecting their practice, acknowledging their clinical expertise and fostering quality performance.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science of Nursing
  • BSN graduates with an interested in Oncology and Perioperative and Operating Room Nursing
  • Experienced nurses with an interest in Oncology and Perioperative and Operating Room Nursing

Position Highlights:

  • The Peri-op Specialty RN I Intern will initiate a professional nursing practice career in a supportive environment committed to mentoring, coaching and learning.
  • Interns will build confidence through a structured, professional transition into-practice experience that is customized to individual developmental needs. They will also develop leadership skills that will positively impact the clinical practice environment and patient outcomes.
  • Peri-op Specialty RN I Intern will create and enhance professional networks and relationships with peers during the internship, while honing and developing clinical and leadership skills in an evidenced based practice Operating Room.
  • The entire internship program length is 6 months with the inclusion of rotation through the 11 specialty teams, including Scrubbing Skills, robotics, thoracic, neurosurgery and head and neck.
  • The internship program also includes informal, one-on-one meetings at scheduled intervals throughout the program to provide additional support and to monitor the Peri-op Specialty RN I Intern's progress. Interns will also participate in evaluation of their own individual progress as well as evaluation of the overall program.
  • All Interns will be required to sign a Commitment Agreement, agreeing to work for a minimum of two (2) years in the Cancer Center as a Registered Nurse in good working standards complying with all polices and protocols of the Cancer Center. In the event the employee does not successfully complete the Internship Program or thereafter the commitment of two (2) full years of employment in the Cancer Center after completion of the program, employee agrees to refund the Cancer Center a pro-rated amount of the cost for the program. Additional details will be provided with an offer.

Credentials and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science of Nursing
  • In lieu of Bachelors, an Associate's degree in Nursing plus 1 year of relevant RN experience may be considered
  • Registered Nurse (RN) RN-Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of FL, or a valid Multi-State privilege to practice in FL (must declare FL as primary State of residence within 60 days from date of hire if licensed in another eNLC compact state with multi-state privileges)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Responsibilities:
