The Schedule & Flexibility
- Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Monday through Friday).
- Work-Life Balance: No weekends, no nights, and all Federal holidays off.
- Customizable Commitment: We can accommodate two different paths:
- The "Sprint": 3 days per week for 40 weeks of the year.
- The "Marathon": 2 days per week on a consistent, year-round basis.
Clinical Scope & Technology
- Direct Clinical Care: Certify prescriptions in medical records, identify complex drug interactions, and provide vital patient education to a diverse population.
- Advanced Automation: Utilize Scriptpro for dispensing and refilling, and manage Pyxis machines for automated medication inventory and security.
- Operational Oversight: Interpret provider orders, manage inventory via the prime vendor computer system, and participate in Quality Assurance (QA) and data improvement activities.
- Clinical Authority: Work independently to provide pharmaceutical care commensurate with local community standards, with periodic reviews by the Chief Pharmacist.
The Population & Environment
A diverse AIC population. The successful candidate must be culturally competent and comfortable working with individuals from various racial, ethnic, regional, and cultural backgrounds.
What You Bring to the Facility
- Licensure: Active Illinois State Pharmacist License (Mandatory).
- Certifications: Current CPR certification and a valid Driver’s License.
- Experience: While correctional experience is a plus, it is not required. This is a great transition role for a hospital or retail pharmacist looking for a new environment.
