Pharmacist - Staff

Accurately reviews and interprets medication orders; prepares accurate and complete patient profiles; reviews profiles for correct drug, dosage and route of administration; ensures that no drug/drug class duplication occurs; ensures that the patient is not allergic to any medications prescribed. Efficiently performs other professional pharmacy duties including the safe procurement, preparation, labeling, distribution, disposal and control of all drugs. Notifies appropriate medical/nursing staff whenever inappropriate drug therapy is ordered. Actively supports and participates in pharmacy activities recommended by CMS or other federal, state or private regulatory agencies

• Bachelor of Science (RPh) or PharmD degree from an (ACPE) accredited college of pharmacy and holds a valid license to practice pharmacy in the State of Maine or the ability to obtain a pharmacy license prior to starting employment.
• Must be in good mental health to allow working in a stressful, fast-paced work environment
• A working knowledge of computers
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to supervise pharmacy technicians, interns and IPPE/APPE student rotations
