Pharmacy Resident
POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Residency Program Director and the Pharmacy Director, is responsible for increasing competency and demonstrating performance as a clinical pharmacist through extensive training and experiential work in a variety of clinical, administrative, and distributive functions. The residency is a 12-month commitment and involves a high level of professional knowledge and the ability to communicate effectively with other health professionals. A high degree of competency and accuracy is required for quality patient care.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Must hold or be eligible for registration as a Pharmacist in the State of Indiana, having attained a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy (requires fulfilling continuing education requirements - 30 c.e.u. every 2 years to maintain licensure.) Licensure as a pharmacist in the state of Indiana is required one month after initial employment.
- Broad and thorough knowledge of drug therapy, pharmacokinetics dosing, nutritional support and drug information, or any previous hospital pharmacy experience highly preferred.
- Must have good written and communication skills and the ability to interact with other health professionals.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records, word processing programs, and Microsoft Excel is advantageous in data analysis.
