Pharmacy Technician

What you need to know about this position:

  • Round-the-clock department servicing every area of patient care within the hospital with more than 45 dynamic workers consisting of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
  • The Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacist to ensure that the right drug is in the right place at the right time for the right patient.
  • Duties encompass all aspects of the medication distribution system, including, but not limited to, procurement, preparation, delivery, returning, restocking, and quality assurance checks.
  • All technicians are nationally certified, or will obtain certification within one year of hire.
  • The base hourly rate for this position is $17.92. Individual compensation is determined for this position through years of directly relevant experience and does include shift differentials and premium pay as applicable. The hourly compensation is only a portion of the total rewards package and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
  • This position will require you to work a combination of shifts, both 7:00AM-3:30PM and 2:30PM-11:00PM, with a holiday and weekend rotation.

What is required for this position:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Have an Indiana Pharmacy Technician License upon hire (or Indiana State Board of Pharmacy approved equivalent)
  • Have hospital pharmacy experience, including sterile compounding
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and push or pull; lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
