Phlebotomist Job Summary:

  • Collects and processes blood and body fluids and performs venipuncture and skin puncture.
  • The Phlebotomist also performs registration and order entry.
  • Primary location will be the Blood Draw Station to help with patient pre-screening.
  • Asks patients questions about exposure and symptoms of COVID-19 to determine if patient can be seen in the blood draw or if they need to call for an appointment in the 'Hot Spot'.
  • Confidently and professionally directts patients to help the phlebotomy staff.
  • Hours vary to include weekends so flexibility is a necessity.
  • Perform a variety of clerical and other duties as assigned.

Phlebotomist Background:

  • Requires an education level of at least a high school diploma or GED; Associate s or Bachelor s degree is a plus.
  • Completion of a phlebotomy program or previous phlebotomy experience is required.
  • Phlebotomy certification is preferred.
  • At least years direct phlebotomy experience.
  • Requires strong front office / customer service skills.
  • Computer skills to include Electronic Health Records (EHR), Microsoft Word, basic data entry, and the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications.
  • Must have around 30 wpm typing with a high level of accuracy.
