Key Responsibilities (Physical Therapist Assistant):

  • Deliver therapeutic interventions and exercises as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist, in compliance with the state Practice Act, within the scope of a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Accurately document patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes using appropriate medical terminology and electronic systems as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of treatment areas and equipment in line with OSHA and facility protocols as part of the Physical Therapist Assistant's daily duties.
  • Collaborate effectively with the physical therapy team to monitor and communicate patient responses and concerns in the role of a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Participate in staff meetings, continuing education sessions, and professional development activities relevant to the Physical Therapist Assistant role.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA, infection control, and facility policies as required of a Physical Therapist Assistant.

Qualifications (Physical Therapist Assistant):

  • Associate’s Degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (or equivalent for international applicants).
  • Current California Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license or certification.
  • CPR certification compliant with state and facility requirements for a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills essential for success as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Must be able to commute or relocate to Santa Cruz, CA 95060 prior to start of employment as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
