Physician Assistant - Urgent Care/Emergency (Evening/32)
Location: Roseville, CA (Onsite)

Salary Range: $147,200 - $222,400 / year
Vendor Fee: $3500
Travel: Yes, up to 5% (Roseville/Folsom clinics)
Position Summary
Under physician supervision, the Physician Assistant delivers high-quality, efficient, patient-centered care within the Urgent Care/Emergency setting. Responsibilities include clinical assessment, diagnostics, procedures, treatment planning, and patient education. Based on departmental needs, duties may extend into hospital, ED, perioperative, or inpatient settings and may include first-assist responsibilities.
This role requires evening availability and the ability to rotate between Roseville and Folsom clinics.
Essential Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Perform comprehensive patient examinations and gather medical histories.
- Order, administer, and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, EKGs).
- Develop and implement patient care and treatment plans.
- Perform therapeutic procedures including:
- Suturing & wound care
- Injections & immunizations
- Infection management
- Other department-specific procedures
Procedural & Specialty Support
- Assist with department-specific diagnostics and therapeutic procedures.
- Support admissions, discharges, transfers, and inpatient rounding as needed.
- Provide pre-operative or pre-procedure education and counseling.
- Assist in surgeries when required (First Assist duties depending on specialty).
- Perform perioperative procedures and contribute to postoperative patient management.
- Review patient charts, labs, vitals, and diagnostic studies to support ongoing care.
Patient Education & Documentation
- Counsel patients on treatment plans, medications, lifestyle changes, and health maintenance.
- Ensure thorough and accurate clinical documentation and progress notes.
- Facilitate continuity of care across transitions.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program.
Licenses/Certifications (Required at Hire)
- California Physician Assistant License
- Physician Assistant National Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Additional Requirements
- Fluoroscopy permit required within 18 months (for Orthopedics, IR, Radiation Oncology only).
- Ability to work effectively in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
- Competency in department-specific procedures (as required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or acute care (not explicitly required but highly beneficial).
