This is a surgical PA opportunity for someone ready to contribute from day one.
Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join our collaborative surgical team, supporting services that include Surgical ICU, Trauma, Vascular Surgery, General Surgery, and ENT.

This is a hands-on inpatient surgical role for a PA who is comfortable assessing complex patients, participating in rounds, performing bedside procedures within scope, and working closely with surgeons, nurses, and other members of the care team.

What You'll Do

• Perform comprehensive physical examinations and patient assessments.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the surgical team.
• Order medications, diagnostic studies, and appropriate interventions.
• Perform bedside procedures within scope of practice and clinical privileges.
• Participate in daily rounds and multidisciplinary care planning.
• Monitor patient progress and recognize significant changes in clinical condition.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment and ongoing care.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Requirements

What We're Looking For
Required:

• Graduate of an appropriate accredited Physician Assistant program
• Current New York State Physician Assistant license
• Current NCCPA certification
• Current BLS and ACLS
• Prior surgical experience

You should also bring:

• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
• Confidence working with complex surgical patients
• Ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons, nursing, and multidisciplinary teams
• A patient-centered approach in a fast-moving hospital environment

Schedule & Compensation
Full-Time | 37.5 hours per week
Must be available for 1-2 weekend days per month
$75.68-$85.21/hour, depending on experience
