Physician- General Surgery

Northern Light Mercy Hospital is seeking a full-time general surgeon to join its established, successful general surgery practice in Portland, Maine. This position offers the opportunity to practice bread and butter general surgery in a collaborative environment with strong administrative support, excellent patient access, and a culture focused on exceptional patient care.

Enjoy Work-Life Balance:

  • 4-day work week
  • 1:4 call rotation and no in-house call requirement
  • 328 hours of annual PTO and additional Paid Parental Time for new parents

Practice in a Thriving, Well-Supported Environment:

  • Bread and butter cases with no endoscopy required.
  • Work alongside 3 other accomplished general surgeons and 2 experienced PAs in a department committed to maintaining high standards of surgical care.
  • Access to the da Vinci robotic system to enhance surgical accuracy and outcomes.
  • Strong patient access with consistent surgical volume driven by a stable and well-developed referral base.
