DESCRIPTION

The Department of Medicine (http://med.ucsd.edu) at University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Division of Geriatrics, Gerontology & Palliative Care is actively recruiting for a full-time geriatrics-trained physician to practice in the San Diego, CA area. We seek an individual who is willing to work in a wide range of clinical programs in our growing geriatrics program. We provide clinical care in the outpatient and inpatient setting. Position will cover various clinical settings as needed but is designed as a hybrid inpatient/outpatient role.

The Department is seeking candidates who have demonstrated commitment to excellence in clinical care, teaching, and service towards building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment. California medicine license/eligibility and board certification/eligibility in geriatrics required. The ideal candidate should have five or more years of geriatrics medicine experience in a variety of clinical care settings; clinical teaching; scholarship and institutional/committee service are preferred. Minimum basic qualification: must be board certified or board eligible in geriatrics.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy
  • Valid California Medical License/DEA
  • Board-Certified or Board- eligible in geriatric medicine required
  • Experience caring for geriatric patients, ideally five or more years
  • Strong track record in clinical care and collaborating across disciplines
  • Experience and ability to teach medical students and trainees
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintain the highest standards of clinical care, teaching, and professional activities, and to develop a climate that supports equality and diversity
