POOL NURSE UNIT
We are currently looking for a Registered Nurse for our Transfusion Unit:
Responsibilities

- Registered Nurses use the nursing process to effectively plan and manage quality patient care. Biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational and discharge planning needs are addressed in all steps of the nursing process. This is demonstrated in base-line and comparative documentation, entered a timely manner, and with evidence of age-appropriate consideration when care is planned, delivered, and evaluated.
- The Registered Nurse delivers individualized quality nursing care to cancer patients and families in accordance with established hospital guidelines, nursing professional practice model, nursing care standards and policies and in accordance with ANA code of ethics and external regulatory agencies.
Duties
- Establish IV for Transfusion.
- Administer intravenous (IV) medications and fluids as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients during infusion therapy, assessing vital signs and overall condition.
- Provide strategies and support to enhance patient comfort.
- Perform phlebotomy procedures as needed for diagnostic evaluation.
- Conduct catheter care, ensuring proper maintenance and hygiene practices.
- Implement aseptic techniques to prevent infection during procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and adjust patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment protocols, potential side effects, and home care instructions.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Credentials and Qualifications:
- BSN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with at least one year of relevant experience or ASN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with 1 year of relevant experience
- FL RN License
- BLS Certification
Preferred:
- 2 years of bedside experience
- 1 year in an ambulatory setting.
