Job Description
Under the direction of the Program Director, Research Principal Faculty will actively participate in the in the design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the programs competencies, mission statement, goals, and curriculum and fulfill the duties listed below. .Provide student instruction; .Evaluate student performance; .Academic counsel of students; .Assure the availability of remedial instruction; .Select applicants for admission to the Program; .Participate in evaluating the Program for effectiveness; .Aid the program in meeting accreditation compliance requirements; .Develop course schedules, syllabi, and student evaluation mechanisms; .Participate in Program/SMS/LMU committees; .Assist in the search process for selecting PA program faculty; .Perform service activities that advance the PA program, and the PA profession; .Perform other program duties as appointed .Design, implement, coordinate, and evaluate learning and assessments of PA students Research: .Directs and leads efforts to develop and implement assessment strategies and frameworks, ensuring there are valid and reliable measures to assess program educational outcomes, student success indicators, course reviews, faculty teaching, programmatic effectiveness, and continuous quality improvement efforts. .Assist the Program Director and Associate Program Director in maintaining ongoing progress for evaluating and reporting teaching effectiveness. .Support Program Director and Associate Program Director with accreditation compliance, evaluation, and problem-solving activities related to the didactic and clinical curriculum. .Establish well-defined expectations for student learners and faculty research mentors regarding Capstone project hypothesis formulation, proposal writing, responsible conduct in research, manuscript writing, presentation skills, methodological approaches, and database utilization. .Manages accreditation and assessment timelines and documentation of assessment cycle milestones. Required Qualifications
*masters degree, *practice or administrative experience in higher education; *graduate of an accredited PA Program and/or graduate in the field of medical/health sciences; * two (2) years in clinical practice as a PA and/or (2) years of experience in area of specialty; *current National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification and/or National certification in area of specialty; *possess a PA license and/or Medical license; and *teaching/administrative experience in a college setting.
Preferred Qualifications
. Doctoral degree in a field related to medical science or education; . Full time experience in higher education as a faculty member of a PA program; . Teaching experience in classroom and clinical settings . Evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and for scholarly activity.
