Program Manager-Faculty Affairs

Job Summary: The Program Manager is responsible for providing direct supervision of the program. This position manages programs and projects by reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating operations to ensure proper management and effective operations. In this role, the Program Manager will lead strategic faculty-related projects across the Department of Medicine, including, when appropriate, support for recruitment, onboarding, professional development, faculty engagement, and performance tracking. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, and well-developed decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the daily management through the life cycle of the program.
  • Define the program controls, that is, the processes, procedures, and reporting structures.
  • Plan the overall program and monitor progress to ensure milestones are being met.
  • Manage the program budget for faculty engagement, development, and retention initiatives.
  • Analyze and evaluate operational systems, including policies, procedures, and objectives to ensure the optimum delivery of services related to faculty affairs and departmental operations as appropriate.
  • Assist with the development of new and/or expanded services including faculty onboarding, mentoring programs, and performance review systems.
  • Develop business plan proposals to support new faculty programs and Departmental academic initiatives.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of staff education and training to meet regulatory mandates and institutional standards.
  • Coordinate resolution of issues involving facilities, environment of care, or human resources that impact faculty lifecycle processes.
  • Work with Advanced Physician Services (APS) and the legal department on contract management, including faculty offer letters and amendments.
  • Promote and provide quality customer service to faculty and proactively identify and resolve faculty-related issues.
  • Provide other supportive services to the Director|Chair as assigned.
  • Effectively use automated systems (e.g., Interfolio, HRIS) to perform work assignments.
  • Performs related duties as assigned


Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience: Must have 5-10 years in a hospital operations management role or within operations of a human service field, required

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in related field or health administration preferred.

Special Requirements: Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Must possess excellent writing and communication skills. Must be able to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with patients, co-workers, supervisors, physicians and the general public.
